NOTE: the following lists are subject to addition and correction Major Decorative Schemes In 1835 and from 1844 Pugin prepared extensive designs and drawings for Sir Charles Barry’s Houses of Parliament scheme. Other decorative schemes include King Edward VI Grammar School, Birmingham 1835 – demolished; one fragment remaining at the school’s new site in Edgbaston Alton Towers, from 1837 until 1852: various additions and decorative schemes – all demolished Taymouth Castle 1839 – extant Chirk Castle, Chirk 1846 – extant Burton Closes, Bakewell 1847 – partially extant; now a residential home Eastnor Castle, Ledbury 1849 – extant Throughout his working life, Pugin contributed bespoke and catalogue designs to Hardman (metalwork; stained glass windows); Crace (furniture/papers/fabrics); and Minton (tiles). |
